Bitten is a fantastic novel that combines action, adventure, mystery, romance and sex along with werewolves. What more could
you ask for?
The story is told in first person by Elena, the only female werewolf in existence. Much of the lore that we come to
associate with werewolf stories is not found in this novel. No mention of allergies to silver or a specific need to change because
of the full moon, instead they must transform every week or so or their bodies will force the change, and that's not pleasant. The
gene is usually only passed on through the males of the species and so any male children are taken from their mothers when
they are young and brought up in the pack lifestyle.
Elena is the exception when she is bitten by her boyfriend and catches the disease. The pack is run by the Alpha of the group who has some tough decisions to make when rogues start to attack and kill
members of his pack. Bitten is a great read and kept me hooked up until the end.
There is word that a sequel to the novel will
be out in 2003 so keep your eyes peeled for it..
