Who Says Demons Don't Dream

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters herein...however if anyone's
willing to sell their soul...I know where you can get a great deal.
Okay the next little bit of the wedding...yeah I know it's crawling a
long...but when the muse is being hateful...you try catching
her...specially after the last time you kinda sorta stapled her wings
to the ceiling...and uhm...well it was all down hill after that. In
any event...she's been being hateful...but as you may guess it's
gonna get interesting in just a bit...and then well...you'll see.
Rated PG-13 for language and just plain nastiness.
I watched silently from the trees as the Bride, I had to control the
roll of disgust that thought caused in my stomach, walked down the
aisle, or floated rather. Jean-Claude had caught her on her first
step, as she'd almost fallen, then lifted both of them dramatically
into the air so that now they floated a few feet off the ground in a
slow course down to where the Groom waited. I had almost laughed out
loud when Kashauna started to trip. Unfortunately I'd been denied the
pleasure of seeing her fall flat on her face.
Our Overlord the great and mighty Lucifer...had finally fallen,
though not in battle, and not to me...but just to a nice piece of
ass. I would admit she was pretty that, but she wasn't the nicest I'd
seen, not by far. Lillith had been much more...attractive, and still
was in fact. I let my eyes flicker to the Queen of Nightmares
instead.
Kashauna had agreed to invite Lillith, but under a great deal
of...not protest, but rather silent recrimination. So like a female.
She never said yes or no just "whatever". Which any sane male
creature knew meant, "I want to tear out her hair, scratch out her
eyes and then really hurt her." Lucifer had of course been oblivous
to all of this.
Of course it was the invitation of Lillith that planted the idea in
my mind. I do so love ideas. They can grow into such lovely plans and
then if done correctly you are able to ensare your foe in a clever
plot. One which if it doesn't leave them at your complete mercy at
least weakens them. A war CAN be won in increments you know.
This one was rather...Inspired if I do say so myself, and tonight,
the night Kashauna won...or rather thought she did, would be one Hell
of a night. I bit the inside of my cheek to stiffle the small laugh
that wormed its way up from my belly. I mustn't laugh, it might
arouse suspicion. Things would go so much smoother if they were all
caught unaware.
I turned my head and looked at Cimeries. He stood a little to my left
with his head bowed as he chanted softly. I wasn't sure if any of
the 'were' creatures could hear him. It was of little importance if
they could. None of them could possibly recognize the language he
was...it wasn't a known dialect.
Cimeries was a Qwuangani...a living dreamer, or rather he had been in
life. Now of course he was a demon, how all that had come about was a
long story...one that a few had died upon asking about. Cimeries
didn't like questions, he didn't like orders either, but he did know
on which side his bread was buttered, and I had information he
wanted. He'd agreed to do as I required after working out a deal.
Humans are always advised not to deal with the devil...but the true
trouble starts when the devils start dealing with each other.
The Qwuangani were decended of Lillith's line...and like her had the
power to shape dreams...or nightmares as they choose. When a person
dies their gifts don't go away...if they become a vampire or a demon
they are enhanced. Lillith could cause mass dreams from a distance,
entrapping whole cities in her webs of deciet and illusion...dreams
that people saw even as they walked through their daily lives.
Cimeries wasn't quite that talented...but he wasn't nearly as old as
our dear Queen of Nightmares...he'd get better with age.
For my plan though he didn't really have to be up to her level. I
didn't want a whole town ensared in a waking dream. I just wanted the
wedding party trapped in a temporal nightmare. Of course, this meant
that eventually they would all wake up...which was a pity...but if
the dream was potent enough the effects would be...lasting. This one
was going to be very potent indeed.
