They almost made it. Almost. Laurella kept thinking as she ran
through the darkness. She had to get to St. Louis. Get on a plane.
Call Princess Meredith first. 'Oh, Goddess!' she screamed in her
head. 'Doyle!'

They had made it to the parking lot, Barinthus carrying Doyle. Frost
had been there. Doyle was conscious, but very weak.

Frost had a rental car in parking lot. The four of them had been
walking towards it when it had explode. Literally.

Barinthus had sat Doyle down. The dark Sidhe was barely on his
feet. All three drew their swords. Cel and about twenty guards
appeared. The four exchanged looks, then lowered their weapons.

"Doyle, Frost and Barinthus... the Queen thought you might be here."
Cel laughed. Kevames stepped into the circle of guards with him.

"Three weeks punishment for this, gentlemen. You know the Queen does
not allow members of her guard out of the Mound without her express
permission." Kevames looked smug. "You, girl, may go."

Laurella looked at Doyle. 'I will get to your Merry, Doyle.'
Laurella sent the thought into his head. She knew he couldn't
reply. She could only feel the wave of love he sent to her. He
wasn't capable of forming thoughts that she could hear. No one was.
She was the only Unseelie who could do this, and only Doyle knew she
could. 'I love you.'

She ran for the trees that lined the parking lot. Once there, she
hid and watched the other three be handcuffed and led away by Cel's
guards.

Then, she ran towards the distance lights that she knew was safety.
She had to get to Princess Meredith. She didn't think Doyle could
survive anything else.
