Army of the Shenandoah vs Army of Alabama

DOUBLE WHAMMY CHALLENGE

Two proud and experienced armies face off against each other in a short tournament that will be rough on the nerves.  One bad roll of the dice can determine the outcome of either round.  The fun will begin Saturday, 10 September with the matchups announced for the First Round and will end no later than Saturday, 29 October with the completion of the Second Round.

FIRST ROUND

First Contact (7 turns) on the BGG game disk or Little Round Top (Historical 1.2.4)(7 turns) on the HPS Campaign Gettysburg game disk.  All options are on unless both opponents agree otherwise.

Names will be drawn from a 'hat' to determine opponents.

The First Round ends at midnight Central Standard Time, Saturday, 8 October after 28 days of tournament play.

GENERAL COMMENTS

There will be no extensions so it's a bad time to develop gamestipation.  Work with your opponent as best that you can around vacations, heavy work schedules, etc as it's a short round but there is plenty of time.

In case of disputes and incompletions, the ruling of the Tournament Czars (Brig Gen Simms and an AoA representative if named) will be final.  Warning - being ahead in the point score will not necessarily earn you a victory if you've been negligent in your game turns.

If one army has more participants than the other, then some brackets may require that the opponents be from the same army.  If that occurs, then that army is guaranteed at least 1 point from the results.

SCORING

A major victory earns the winning army 2 points.

A minor victory earns the winning army 1 point.

The army with the most points at the completion of two rounds will be declared the winner.  If it finishes in a draw/tie then both armies will shake hands, have a drink, and go home.
