Old Stuff is Fun
I've been going though a lot of my old cds since I can no longer listen to the radio (I get terrible reception from my room). No Doubt: Tragic Kingdom popped up. I realized that I never really gave the whole thing a good long listen, so I churned through the entire thing a couple of times and some great stuff surfaced. Remember?:
Stolen from my subprofile:
Still lazy. More music below.

Coldplay "Clocks"

Incubus "Stellar"

Juliana Theory "Do You Believe Me?"

Jimmy Eat World "A Praise Chorus"

Finch "Letters to You"

Hoobastank "Remember Me"

Green Day "Desensitized"

Rhett Miller "Come Around"

The Zephyr Song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Rating: Fun Stuff

Rationale: The words make no sense at all, the melody is bizarre, and there's a lot of "whu whu whoa"-ing. What do you expect from a band that goes on stage wearing nothing but socks in creative places? Anyways, I'm just impressed that they used the word "zephyr". Amazing.

Screaming Infidelities by Dashboard Confessionals
Rating: Highly Recommend

Rationale: Okay, what more could you want in a song? The vocals are great, the guitars are beautiful, the emotion is there. All in all, it's a great piece of work. The chorus is at the end, which is a bit strange, but it's something to look forward to.

Sk8ter Boi by Avril Lavigne
Rating: Recommend

Rationale: I don't really like Avril the person, but Avril the songwriter is pretty darn good. Her songs always have this honest feel; she writes as if she's experienced it all before. Plus, she has a really strong voice. It's almost like she's yelling at you in particular. Fun stuff.

Somewhere Out There by Our Lady Peace
Rating: Recommend

Rationale: You've probably already heard this song if you've seen the xXx commercial. My opinion is that the song starts out really strong with a good melody and rounds out with some great violin-like effects in the back. Anyways, this is just the tip of the iceberg for Our Lady Peace. They've got tons of great songs(try It's All For You)

Penelope by Pinback
Rating: Sorta Recommend

Rationale: This song is pretty catchy. Initially, it strikes you as mysterious with the swaying tones in the back. I hated the song when it started to play, but it grows on you. Still, after hearing it like forty times it gets a bit annoying. . .

In My Place by Coldplay
Rating: Highly Recommend

Rationale: This rationale may be a bit biased seeing as I've listened to Parachutes (Coldplay's Debut album) about fifty times!!! I still can't believe how pretty this song is. Listening makes you feel like you're flying or something crazy like that.

Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World
Rating: Recommend

Rationale: I don't know why I like this song. I guess it's fun to listen to when you just need to let some steam off.

More to Come
