WITH HIS ARMS OPEN

With his arms open
he ran forward
and I fell through his arms
to the coldness below
With best intentions
and all heart
he moved to save me
But didn't understand
how hard I was falling
With Arms Open
He ran forward
and I fell through his arms
to the emptiness below.

ESCAPE

I close my eyes
searching for an escape
from what I'm thinking
an escape from my own consciousness
I'm restless
but I couldn't say why
I'm itching to move
but my body feels like lead
I don't know how to escape
and I don't think I ever will

POLITIC

The parties squabble
promoting public phobias
exaggerating the divide
constructing 'us' and 'them' mentalities
constructing a wall to hide behind
YOU are with US
shot lies from the ceiling
fault lies with 'them'
Never realise it's the same
the parties squabble
and people fall in line
and learn this as a way of life.

LINK

A view of the colours
an ear to your soul
a path for a scream to carry
a thousand miles or more
if you are listening
another sight
into another mind
another door
which you may not yet find
a link between moments
lost by most
so open your eyes girl
there's always another step.

THIS YEAR

Is it nearly over yet?
can I walk away?
will you let me start again
or fight for another day
You've all hurt me
so much this year
you've ripped me clean to shreds
but now I'm sewing myself up
and I've no more time to waste.
no more setting myself up
to be used, hurt or torn,
no more BS in my life
I've no energy for this anymore
I'm living out my eighth life here
and if I hadn't learnt by now
what kind of stupid would I be
You can't get me now.

CONSCIENCE

Rubbish is flowing through the countryside,
a can, a paper, a trolley,
Piling high, the refuse of a town,
to sit there and befuddle the cows,
I couldn't use the bin you see,
it wasn't in my sight,
I didn't want to carry it,
don't you understand my plight?
I'm sure in a couple of years or so,
it'll disappear away,
the animals won't mind it here,
it'll make no difference to their day,
now my friends have joined me,
and as the unwanted things pile up,
I wonder where the greenery went,
and why I'm sinking here,
Rubbish is flowing through the countryside,
it wouldn't have taken that long,
but you've just gone and left it there,
let's hope karma finds you later on.

LYING, BUT YOU DON'T KNOW YET

You're lying,
but you don't know yet,
You're walking round in circles,
following every road sign you see,
but you don't know it yet,
Your feet already know it,
They've been here before,
Your trench is well made,
is there another sign
or will you never know
You're lying,
but you cannot see.

MAP

Why would you not learn
from being told of the dead end
not draw it on your map
have to go there yourself
find your end before it is written
if the path is already explored
and it leads to jagged rocks below
search for a bridge.

LOST

Just want to lose myself,
Lose myself in the emptiness,
lose myself, and maybe,
maybe not to know the way back,
Don't have to think of anything,
Don't think of my disappointments,
Don't think about the silence,
that I'll never find in my head,
Didn't think about the hurt,
far away and lost,
and maybe I can forget,
that I'm lost.
