GOODBYE

My Dear Friend
It's time you were leaving
walk away and don't look back
I'm tired of believing in a change
Our time has passed
now we should go our separate ways
walk away and don't look back
My dear friend
from whom I'm now parting
We've helped one another
through this short time
and now we've changed who we are
I can't sit here and pretend
not anymore
if you don't want me here
I shan't be here anymore
I'll walk away
and it's time you did too
My dear friend
It's time you were leaving
I'm tired of believing in a change.

DIZZY

Watch the Colours
flow past your eyes
sit where you are
Paralysed
Feel the noise
echo round your head
and destroy
conscious thought
Listen to the whistling
of the world
passing you by
smell nothing
as you can't stay long enough
You're falling
You're everywhere
for just a moment
then you're moving on
Taste nothing
tonight you leave everything
there's no need to worry again.

SHADOWS

Unfamiliar Shadows
Unfamiliar Emotions
Empty cupboards, empty shelves
leaving speeches
Bated breath
Reactions held for a moment
Then let go with the torrent
of emotion
Infrequent and Unknown
Unexpected and taking over
Unfamiliar emotions
Unfamiliar Shadows.

SHARE WITH ME

Share with me
Every day of your life
Your highs and your lows
Your moments of happiness
and your wishes and dreams
Share with me
All of you
and I shall smile

A DAY OF MOURNING

Mourning for what has come to be
Mourning for what might be
Mourning for a loss
Mourning for a loss you are still losing
Realise what it is you cry for
Mourning for it's associations.

ONE BIG STEP

Stand by Me
as I take in what I have seen
Hold my hand
as I fall apart around you
Stay with me
as I look for all the pieces
Stand by me
as I try to move on

MY TELESCOPE

Sitting amongst the meaningless
belongings in boxes
Memories at a distance
Woken in the morning by shouting
Drifting off to music over slamming doors
A phone call away from a smile
Not far from anywhere else
Distant from a place with meaning
Looking to the future
there lies blank walls
Looking to the past
there lies the telescopes searching ahead
Looking to the present, the pain which sits with me
The reason to look at other domains
The reason I always have my telescope
Always searching for a smile
Smiling in the arms before I return
Return to the legs of the future table.

A PHILOSOPHY

Far within me, the sounds of waterfalls resonate,
Reaching every corner, every wall, every part of my insides,
this is fact.
Far from me there are battles with guns and armour,
metal on metal, despair and anger,
Not so far from me lies another battle,
This one with despair and anger,
Hope and Concentration against despair and anger,
The first of these is perspective.
To concentrate I bring myself back to it
If this can happen, to bring consciousness to mind,
then hope and concentration can overcome.
The second, another perspective,
one which reminds me not to stray from my side,
Not to grow anger, but to let it loose
and not in a form.
Just to keep it from form.
The third is my battle.
It shall forever be my battle.
Others have similar battles.
It has fields where it may seem like you are clear,
but to go onward,
and to learn we have these battles
...the one battle.

THE DREAM

As the sun sets
and blackness settles in
with the coldness it brings
I stand there
I walk to the swing
and I rock there
watching night go by
watching creatures scuttle away
until sunlight comes
watching them ride my tears
to a darkness beyond my sight
watching the trees bend back
in the wintery gaze of the gales
sweeping in to wave goodbye to the sun
still I sit and watch
and rock
in my swing.

A TIME PAST

He looks upon her
in a different light to before
without the shine on her face
without the gravity she held before
he looks away
and feels better
knowing he doesn't have to
face that world anymore.
