-What's wrong?

Dalaran looked to the side and saw the black denim legs of Ganis next to her. She looked up at the girl with an irritated look only to return to the grass in front of her. She didn't want to speak to Ganis because she knew she would say someting she didn't really mean.

-Well?!

Ganis grew slightly impatient. She'd been trying to solve whatever problem there was by talking to Dal in a calm way, but this was it. She didn't want to take more bullshit from her friend. Dalaran kept quiet. Her eyes wandered slowly from her hands on her knees to each and every straw on the lawn. What was the point in talking. It wouldn't change anything. So what if she was jealous. Ganis wouldn't understand. Or would she?

-I have no idea what the fuck is going on. All I know is that you get upset every now and then - WITHOUT REASON. What have I done to make you upset, huh? Nothing! Either you do something about this or you can find yourself a new friend.

The anger and hurt had slowly built up inside Dalaran for a while. She stayed quiet although she wanted to scream. To vent. She craved it but there was never anyone there that would listen. And even if there were someone she would never be able to find the right words. It made her even more frustrated and angry. Her fingers drummed in frenzy on her leg. She knew she couldn't get out of the situation without being hurt or hurting Ganis.

Ganis sighed and closed her eyes for a short second and shook her head slowly. Her arms had taken a defensive stance - crossed under her breasts. Her eyes found the people across the street, rushing in the afternoon light. She was grateful that she was standing in the shade of the tree. Some days she just hated the sun.

-So this is how you want things? You're acctually considering ending our friendship because of some...shitty little problem of yours.

Her attention was back at Dal. Her eyes wandered over the otherwise happy girl. She looked just like a little 16 year old, obnoxious "wanna-be-different" in her maroon PCB t-shirt and dark blue, worn jeans. Ganis hated that she liked it. Average wasn't among her favourit words. Ganis watched the face of her friend but didn't see any sign of a change in her mood.

-Fine! she said and turned around. The keychain slapped against her leg as she slowly but determind walked away.

-Are you two serious? Dalaran muttered from her spot under the tree. The gravel crunched under Ganis' boots as she turned and faced her friend. Dalaran squinted her eyes in misbelief even though Ganis hadn't said anything. Her friend, in her black rock-chick t-shirt and wriststraps, looked back at her, confused.

-Who?! Ganis said.
-You... and him! Are you serious? Dalaran asked.

Ganis chuckled and a smile Dalaran couldn't identify spread across Ganis' face.

-You're jealous.
-No I'm not, Dalaran hissed quickly and dug her chin into the hands on her knees.
-You are! You're jealous because I have someone.

The tone in Ganis' voice changed as she took on the same defensive stance as before. She explained without really explaining herself. She didn't feel she had to excuse herself because her friend had issues. Dalaran didn't want to listen but couldn't...not listen. Ganis was pretty upset. She could tell. The tone in Ganis' voice changed from being patronising to anger to calm talk. In between there were sarcastic laughter.

-Why does this bother you? Ganis asked.
-I certainly don't have to explain myself to you. Dalaran muttered. That was the final straw.

-Look, you twat. There is someone I like and if you have a problem with that it's your problem. Not mine. Just because you're jealous doesn't mean I have to put up with it.

Ganis watched as hurt replaced the anger in Dal's face. But there was something else. Defeat. She turned around and as she walked away a tiny grin spread in her face. "She's not upset because I date someone. She's upset because I'm not available. Ha. What about that."
