Plot

Dana and Benton are good friends. They play soccer together and are always(not for long) there for each other. One night, while Bentons parents aren't home his house ignites into flames. Dana's dad, Mr. Bellamy saved Benton and his sister Letitia, and ended up in the hospital.

While playing soccer, Dana notices that Benton is ignoring him on the field, and soon reliezes that he is ignored by the rest of the team, on and off the field. Dana confronts Benton to see what was going on, and is dumbfounded when Benton blames him for the fire by not telling his parents to watch after him. He later adds that Dana's dad did a bad job on wiring the house and says that is the reason for the fire. Dana knows that he was not asked to tell his parents to watch after him and that his dad could not have done something wrong electrically. Dana's friend, Steve, who also plays on the soccer team helps to try to straiten things out by telling Benton to stop telling those stories.

In Dana's quest for the truth he puts together evidence that he finds. The first thing is that his dad had not done work in the attic of the house, so he ventures into the charred house and concludes that the fire started in the attic. While in the house Dana finds Andrea, a girl who lives in the neighborhood. She has a video of Benton going in the house, taking out a metal box, and throwing it away, which she shows to Dana. Dana makes sense of why Benton always coughs and wheezes even weeks after the fire, he smokes.

To finish this mess Dana confronts Benton running toward a shed (where he smokes). He presents some evidence and asked Benton would he could say about it. Benton let out the truth of his smoking. After he cleared things up they both became friends again.
