Dana Bellamy- Dana is the main character. He plays for the Anchors soccer team. Dana is very determined and focused. He was determined to find out why Benton blamed him and his dad for the fire and kept focused on playing soccer hard, even when no one is cooperating and he is frusterated. Dana is also very athletic, competing to be top scorer on his team.
Benton Crawford- Benton plays for Anchors. He is good friend of Dana but sacrifices the friendship to keep a big secret. Benton is gullible to try cigarettes, and selfish and thoughtless because he keeps a secret and replaces any suspicion of any wrongdoing by him with hurtful lies blaming people that are innocent and telling everyone.
Mr. Bellamy- Mr. Bellamy is Dana's dad. He saved benton and his sister's lives, but is blamed for the fire that he saved them from. He is herioc for saving the children's lives. Mr. Bellamy is proud of his son whenever he plays soccer and he confident because he insists that his electric wiring didn't cause the fire.
Andrea McGowen- Andrea lives in the neighborhood. She records anything she sees on video. She is very helpful to Dana by showing video thhat helps solve the puzzle of Benton and the fire. She is very aware and smart for recording things like this.
Steve Rapids- Steve is a friend of Dana and plays for the Anchors. He is the one player that is on Dana's side and is helpful by trying to straiten things out with Benton. Steve is friendly by helping in this situation and very athletic also, being another competitor for top scorer.
