Matt Christopher, author of Top Wing is also the author of over 120 more sports books for children. He was born in 1917. In high school he played many sports and started writing short stories and articles for magazines. He won the 1993 Milner Award and recieved many other awards, along with numerous award-winning books. Matt Christopher died in 1997, ending over 60 years of writing sports stories still loved by children and adults.
