The barman, Michael Johnson, told this newspaper that, at around 20:00 hrs on Saturday, the occupants of a white Toyota Sprinter car entered Princes Street and parked behind the small liquor restaurant.

Two men with ‘large guns’

He said two men with ‘large guns’ came out and forced several customers to lie on the ground as they robbed them of cash, cellular phones and jewellery.

The barman said his sister, Tessa, ran into the bar, and he turned off the lights and locked the doors in that area.

However, he said, fearing that the men might shoot at the doors, he decided to open them. One of the bandits then took away over $25,000 from a drawer before he and his accomplice escaped in their car.
