Hello, my name is Jessica. I'm 16 years old and I'm in love with a boy called Daniel. He's 18 years old. The last time I saw him was 6 years ago, at a place called Party Zone.

You might say it's weird to still be in love with a boy I haven't seen for 6 years. You might say it's time to move on, but whoever has come and gone, Daniel has always just been the guy for me.

It's August 19th 2008. I'm meeting up with my best mate Lucy. Lucy and I met when we where 9 years old and have been friends since. I'm waiting in the park for Lucy, when suddenly I feel a hard tap on my shoulder. I turn round to see a tall girl with lovely, long blond hair(Lucy).

"You're late." I told her politely.

"I know, I was nearly out the door when mum saw me and told me to wear something else!" Lucy replied quickly.

"Did you find it?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, but I didn't find anything, 'part from that there's a shop near here that sells stuff like that. If we go now, we might make it in time. But, one thing, we have to go by train." Lucy said.

Well if you're wondering what we are talking about, I will tell you. Lucy and I want to become witches. Being a witch is all about magic spells and stuff. We are looking for candles and books for us to become witches.

"Well come on let's go! Do you have a map?" I asked her. Lucy put her hand inside her pocket and retrieved a small piece of paper with a map on it.

"Let's go!" She said and we both rushed to the train station.

We got off the train in a narrow, dark street.

"Which way now?" I asked Lucy. She quickly got out her map again, but she looked confused.

"It should be one of these houses." She said, looking around her. We walked around for a long time, until we saw a man cutting his grass so we went up to him and said

"Hello, we're looking for a magic shop around here. Would you happen to know where it is?"

He looked up and pointed out the shop was next door to him.

We went up the large steps to find a large wooden door in front of us. We knocked on it and at first nothing happened, but then we heard some footsteps.

Suddenly, the door opened and a beautiful woman stepped out side and said to us

"Hello children, do you want to come in?" We both stepped inside the old house, to find ourselves in a extraordinary shop, with lovely candles and incense lit everywhere. It had shelves upon shelves off different books, with flowers and many other magical items.

"It's beautiful." I said excitedly, the smell of the incense made everything so much more gentle and softer, like you could just fall asleep.

I closed my eyes and felt a powerful force across the room, so strong you could just get sucked in by it.

I opened my eyes finding myself staring at the lady who let us in.

"May I ask, what is your name?" I said to the woman. She smiled sweetly and said to me

"Sophia and yours?" The lady was still smiling, but she was still across the room, she didn't even move closer to talk. How strange, I thought to myself. By this time Lucy was too interested in the books to notice us talking.

"My name is Jessica. I know this may sound weird, but you feel powerful; really powerful!" I said slowly, going across the room towards her, but I stopped, I didn't know if it was safe to go.

"You're right, I am powerful. I'm a witch; I see you're powerful too." She smiled again, walked across the room, pulled out a small green book - from one of the shelves - and handed it to me. It said on the front 'WICCA FOR ALL'

"I'm not powerful. I'm just a normal girl..." I mention to her. She laughed and said

"Then why are you floating a foot in the air?"

I looked down, she was right, I was floating a foot in the air! It was like gravity didn't apply to me. I started to panic. It's impossible, how can gravity not apply to me, it's suppose to apply to everyone, i thought to myself. I looked a Sophia and said

"What's happening to me?"

She just smiled again and opened the small green book to a page titled 'HOW TO STOP YOU FLOATING'.

Sophia read it out loud:

"Dear Goddess from above,
This floating is troubling this young love,
Let gravity take over,
So she can be as happy as a rover"

Suddenly, I began to slowly float back down to the ground again.

And that was my first scent of the magic.
