   Outlaw Star is my favorite Anime series and is one of the best Anime series ever created! It's use of fighting, blood-shed, and space travel are combined to illustrate the dangers of being an outlaw, show the hardships and triumphs in space, and demonstrate the value of friendship. It follows a boy-turned-outlaw named Gene Starwind and his partner, a twelve year-old computer wiz-kid named Jim Hawking. They run a business together doing small jobs for "wong". They later run into an android outlaw named "Hot Ice" Hilda, who introduces them into the life of an Outlaw. After being chased and almost killed, Hilda introduces them to Melfina, an android who's purpose and past is unknown. Before she dies, Hilda introduces Gene to the "Outlaw Star," a red ship with extra-ordinary capabilities. She also tells Gene about the "Galactic Lay-line," an ancient treasure that lies in the heart of the universe. They later run into the other main characters, Aisha Clanclan and Sazuka. Aisha is a kitaro-kitaro (cat-woman) who loves fight and feast. Sazuka is a samurai specialist, with a sword that can cut through almost anything. These five people, along with Gillingham, the ships computer, explore the universe, hoping to find treasure, and kill anyone who threatens them, making this series one of the Best Ever!
