My Christian Rant
Ok, possibly my favorite topic to bitch about is Christians, but in all that fussing there IS a point. And that is that Christians are evil.
So, I'm going to write out why I don't like them. Right here. In as coherant a statement as I can manage. This IS a statement, by the way, not a debate. I don't care what you think; this is my website, go make your own if you feel the need to voice your beliefs.
So why do I hate Christians so much? What is the number 1 reason I can't stand to be around them? Because they fail to understand the basic to points that God made about being Christian: Choice and the fallability of others (that means people screw up).
The choice part people see everywhere. You see Christians going about harassing anyone who isn't exactly in line with what the Christians think, regardless of if it has anything at all to do with religion or not. Christians are terribly intolerant, even more so than I myself (which takes some doing). There are some things that Christians shouldn't tolerate in themselves, but that does not give them the right to take away the choices given by God himself to the other people on earth. It is required that people make a concious choice, without coersion, to be a Christian. Harassing people into being a Christian is like getting someone to confess to crimes by torturing them; those people aren't really "confessing", somebody just wants to hear a confession from them and is forcing it out of them.
So what did I mean by "unreliability of others". Well, It's hard for me to put into words, but it is simply that you cannot depend on other people to teach you a damned thing (yes, I relize the irony of this). Christians tend to band into churches, and make up rules, and on one hand that's good, because there are things that God wants you to do, and some that God doesn't want you to do (don't ask me for specifics). As best I can put it, it's like this: All men -and women- are fallible (meaning they can screw up), regardless of whether you believe anything about God or not. Simply because of that, you cannot rely on them to teach you about God - even whether such a being exists or not. You don't even know anything about their relationship with God (they can tell you alot of things, but you don't KNOW -- remember, they can be liars too). Besides, you are capable of speaking to God yourself (yes, this is a point of doctrine). You don't NEED someone else to tell you a damn thing; if you want/need to know, you go ask God yourself, and HE will answer the question -- or not. Anything another person tells you may or may not be good and true, so you can't simply accept the things they tell you. Besides, if you can get your answers from God Almighty, why are you asking a puny human?
So how does that fit in with Christians? It goes back to the church: when people get into a church, the church has a tendency to make rules. And not all of those rules seem relevant, mainly because they aren't. Look at the debates people have over the length of their hair; do you honestly think God cares about your hair (note: If you don't know you can ask. If you already know, and you never actually asked God himself, then you are one of the people I have a problem with). That is just one example. Christians take the focus off the real issues simply because when they get together, they bicker too much to actually get around to making a point, and most often Christians are so stuck in their own way of thinking that they never even get around to the real issues. The point being that the only reliable source of information about how God wants you to live and act is God himself.
So what WAS the point of all that? To say that these Christians who harass you into being their sort of Christian (which has nothing to do with any real God, btw) are as likely to be nothing more than jerks trying to get your money as not. You simply can't trust them, because you have nothing but their own word to go on. And remember: The most charming people in the world are often up to something.
So what do I believe? If a person wants to know what God wants out of them, they need to go ask God himself. Yes, I am saying that you (yes, you, real person) ought to talk to God himself, if you care. If you don't, great, have a nice day (this, by the way, is a choice. you can stop reading now). If you are curious, try talking to God (often called "Praying"). And if you aren't sure how, ask God "God, how do I talk to you?", out loud if you just want to be sure. If you feel foolish, do it all by yourself, where the only person who will see and hear you is you (and God, of course, assuming there is a God to hear you). If you get an answer, great; and if not I'm full of BS. Even if there is a God, and you don't hear him, if you actually tried praying to God, then He can't really be too pissed off at you because you actually gave him a chance to say something, and He didn't. Yes, I'm actually making a suggestion, and that turns this into preaching, that's just how it is. I don't care what you do, this is just what I'm saying. If you want to know anything else you are going to have to ask God himself, because this is where I'm done teaching.
The irony of this is that I ended up preaching :( but oh well. It could be worse, and I didn't make you come to my homepage, click on this link, and then read this page.
And for every Christian who reads this and doesn't even think about what I've said, I score one point.
