Three class
periods will be given to complete this project. Time outside of class will
also be given (as homework) and I will be available for extra help if anyone
needs technical assistance. Your group will contain 2-3 students but no more.
The process is as follows:
1. Each group will have to produce a PowerPoint presentation that is at
least 10
slides long. 2. Presentations should be professional and practiced. Cue cards can be
used. You will be provided with a laser pointer to direct the audience to
aspects in your presentation. Each group member should do some of the
presentation (both creating and presenting). 3. A disc with the presentation should be given to me. If the file is too
large then the file can be emailed to me at
klein@pharm.sunysb.edu. 4. A list of references should be included as the last slide in the presentation. 5. To make sure that each member of the team has contributed to the project
they must also prepare a one page typed summary about one part of the
presentation. It can be any part of the presentation but each group member
must write a distinct summary. For example Tom can write about the
introduction, Jane can write about how the topic relates to chemistry and
Bobby can write about new aspects he learned about. 1 Timeline: 2 1. Before our first library class you should have formed your groups. 2. By the end of the first library class you should have found your topics,
have them approved by me, and started researching information. (Remember you
have a double period to do this). 3. By the end of the second library class you should have all of your
information to make your
presentation, and have started your PowerPoint presentation. 4. By the end of the 3rd class (the computer lab class) you should have your
PowerPoint presentations in working order. 5. Your group can then use a free period, or extra help time to finish the
presentation at school or home. 6. Don’t forget to consult the Evaluation section to make sure you have
completed everything to get a good grade. Lets see what
