personal introduction Personal Introduction

Seeing how I'm starting to view this web page as my virtual self on the internet where people can find out a little about my interests (and hopefully share in them), I decided to take it a step further and do a full blown bio page on me :-) I guess I just have a compulsive need to share (though, I am usually a pretty open and easy-going guy).

Elsewhere on the page you can obviously piece together that I like astrology though I truly consider myself to be a Zen Christian (see the theology link). That is, I believe strongly in the religion of Christianity and integrate the philosophy of Zen. I feel really "hip-to" Zen's sense of balance, love of nature and harmony and the subtle humor it portrays and apparent subtle humor that exists within nature (fate, it seems, has a strong sense of irony to it). I spend a lot of time mulling over and going back and forth on issues of philosophy and religion. The astrologist in me would say that's because I'm a Pisces (see the astrology link above) :-p

My name is Floyd and I'm interested in a myriad of things (a LOT of people consider me eccentric and weird and strange, etc). I am interested in the ancient Latin language and independent study of Anglo-Saxon (and I may be expanding that list soon). But I also like games, booze (but not a heavy drinker) and movies - sometimes I can be a bit insecure but hey, even nearly perfect people have our bad points :-P (I hope you do realize, that's just my geek humor showing through). This is why I'll always be single (you can get the rest here).

Anyway, my main interests are movies, sometimes reading, but mostly talking and computer (and console) games. I understand that I'm not very exciting but that's the price I pay for being so darned loveable. Though I can do the waltz and prefer dancing when there are not a lot of people around (though I'm not heavy into dancing, it can be fun when the setting's right). I'm not into the whole "goth" and "rave" thing. Although I am and prefer to be around people that are liberal thinking, I do not live a "liberal" life and am actually pretty conservative. However, I guess all that's subject to interpretation but I feel that I am a liberal thinker with a convserative's modus operandi.

To be completely honest, the best way to describe me is a "day-dreamer". I like talking science fiction (movies and tv), fantasy type stuff (Beowulf is a favorite topic), sometimes mushy stuff like Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, aliens, ghosts, religions, and junk like that (I guess I need to find a totally geeked-out gal that's into that same stuff and also computer games - heh heh, a "game grrl day-dreamer" so to speak). But I am more or less resigned to the fact that me getting a girlfriend is the 1st sign of the Apocalypse (look it up in Revelations and prove me wrong!).

Oh well, if you want to find out more, just drop me a line, ICQ me or talk to my friends (but it's all gossip I tell ya!!). Ok, so I'm weird too, but I never denied it! Addendum. Upon request I've posted an old scan of an old photograph. It sucks, I may replace the picture later on but it's all I have for now. Anyway, here's my photo.
