In response to your article, Yes the U.S. does get a lot of flap for things even though we help out half the world. My problem in this country is the proliferation of money in the body politic and how it has affected our political and legal system. We can criticize other countries for things that we do here. We complain about corruption in other countries where pay-offs are customary in order to get policy changes and favors. Japan and other Asian countries for example. They are now paying a heavy price with their economies and public perceptions. We have the same problems with OUR ENVIORMENTAL PRESIDENT, and all his friends in the energy industry who help put him here with millions of dollars in soft money. All the conservative morons who believe that global warming is a conspiracy to advance socialism, like Pat Robertson (700 Club) and Pat Buchanan. Bush is listening to these idiots. 150 countries agreed 2 years ago in Kyoto to control greenhouse gases in which the U.S. creates 25%. Bush decides to back out of this agreement because He thinks it will put a burden on companies. he also is going to allow more arsenic in our drinking water through decreased regulation of the E.P.A. Bush is a Big Liar! And to top it all off, He wants a Star Wars missile defense for the U.S. when every scientist has stated that it would cost too much and would not be totally effective in defending the entire U.S.. Russia, China and NATO are all Pissed Off at that idea and they say it will lead to a new arms race and a new round or distrust. And you wonder why people in other countries badmouth the U.S? We do stupid things in the interest of Money and Ego boosting. Our leaders do stupid things and we the people suffer undue damage to our reputation and our standing in the world economy. They are all bought and paid for like prostitutes. Anything for money that will get them in office or keep them there. I love this country! I hate it when corrupt leaders and businessmen set policy for the country and make us look bad; in a democracy where you can get a gun easier than a good education. God Bless America!
