My Minis

back to the music page

Recent Minis

These are the sound files that I've made that haven't quite "graduated" to full songhood yet. Once I finally pull my head out of my butt and sit down, I'll eventually hash them into actual songs, but until then, here they are.

Advanced minis
I'd like to think these are almost done, but still need just a little more work.

Incompletes
They're finished, done, maybe not yet to perfection, but the basic melody is not as amorphous as the minis, and they're more completed (at least in hard copy) than the Advanced minis.

The Warlock Kinda dark, brooding theme. Not sure what to do with it yet.

Chicken soup
Interesting story 'bout the events that transpired when I composed this one, but it you're a vegetarian or an animal rights activist, don't ask...

The Primal Rhythm Just for fun, I created 3 separate drum rhythms, one 13 beats, one 17 beats, and one 19 beats long. Lined them up, set them off, and waited to see how long it took the three prime number rhythms to line up again. Just under 9 minutes, never repeats...

Advanced Minis

Another poor nameless melody. Composed it on my recent trip to Europe.

Happy birthday, my way. Rough draft... Same melody (C, C, D, C, F, E), new rhythm, added my own harmony and an interupted cadence at the end. heh, go ahead and try to play along, it's in C major.

Cario Remember how I said on the main page that Journey through a dream was my first "true" composition? I didn't lie, but here's one from even EARLIER. This one is one I gave to my mom in 1991 for her birthday. I've done my best to translate it into standard notation while keeping as close to the original(if I can remember it right) as possible. The staffs were drawn by hand on a blank sheet of printer paper, and one had four lines instead of five, so you can sort of get the idea of what I knew(didn't know?) I was doing... I'm not sure what I'll do with it now that it's resurfaced. I may leave it as is to remain true to history, or I may incorporate it, or parts of it, into future songs...

Nameless medly Just needs a begining, an end, and a name... Listen for the excerpt from Her majesty

Marathon Rhythm
~26 minutes, repeats

Incomple

Travelers
Across the desert.
