Dr. Brian May looked away from his high-powered telescope to make a note. This was very exciting. In about 5 minutes there would be a Nova in quadrant #3187, the quadrant he had been studying for the past year. He was planning on making his thesis on his new theory on Nova's. According to his most recent study- The phone rang.
Dr. May shook his head. He knew he shouldn't have let them install a phone in his lab. Always interrupting. He picked up the phone.
Brian thought for a moment. Was it that Baker person? What was it? Roy? Ralph? Hell, he couldn't even remember where his coat was 99.9% of the time, how was he supposed to remember who funded him?
Brian frowned. Wasn't that this weekend? He had some very important research. Who did this guy think he was, calling him up in the middle of the night and asking him if his weekend was free?
There was a click on the other end and Brian slammed the phone down angrily. He didn't usually get like this but lately with all that was going on…
He checked his watch. 3:29am, Thursday the 18th. Great. To make it to Ally Pally from where his research station was would take-
The Nova! Brian ran over to his telescope and peered into the lens. It was over. Brian's face fell. All those months of studying…
He shook his head. How could he go on that ridiculous trip now? He didn't even know where he was going. Brian sighed. When did he know where he was going? Sometime around the beginning of University, Brian thought. Then, I knew what I was doing. Now…I'm not so sure. Brian shook his head. Better get his coat. Now where did he leave it?
