Traverse or turning is a very important part of snowboarding. (Duh, you don't want to run into
trees do you?) Okay to turn or traverse you need to lean into your turns. Okay lets start with
the harder part, toe sides edge (the edge your toes are facing). First you need to lean towards
the nose of your board (the front) with your knees bent and your arms facing forwards (your arms
do help). Then lean toe sides edge and make sure your board is tilting so the edge of the board
is practically dug into the hill (in front of you). (If you need to stop, stop, but I don't
recommend it) Okay now that your back is facing down the hill you need to lean towards the tail
of your board (the opposite of your nose) and bend your back knee towards the tail. Then keep
your front leg straight and lean backwards. Make sure your board is tilting so the edge of the
board is practically dug into the hill (same as the toe sides edge turn, but the opposite
direction, behind you). This side is called the heals side edge. Well do that over and over
again and your considered a traverser!
