Byers: Getting to Know Me
Birthdate: April 1975
Mike Byers spent most of his young life in the small Texas town of La Marque. It's that place you drive through when you're going to Galveston. You know, the place with the outlet mall and the dog track. La Marque even has a Sonic and a Dairy Queen. He graduated from LM High School in 1993 second in his graduating class. We knew then that he was destined for greatness.
Mike left his little town to move to the big city. He attended the University of Houston. He spent much time there studying, learning, drinking, buying used CD's, and playing guitar. He eventually met up with some crazy people and started working for a small record label called Loose Goose Productions as their office manager. His job consumed much of his time, and he eventually joined a local Celtic band playing guitar, mandolin, and bouzouki.
In 1997, Mike left the University of Houston with a degree in English (and a minor in Mathematics). He also left his day job and band. After several months of wasting time and watching a lot of television, Mike realized he was out of money. This led him to seek employment with Borders Books and Music.
Soon Mike began teaching guitar at Easterly Music Studio in Friendswood. He remained there until December, 2000. He remains working for Borders and would like to make much more money. Send him any offers here.
