O brother? O brother! this flick aint bad atall....a winding journey , a bit ridiculous at times, but definitely good for a laugh. based on HOMER's ODYSSEY (?), this picture has some hilarious characters and the predicaments to match. of course, it is billed as a musical, but its more like a karaoke, so dont let that lead you astray.

I was told this movie was hilarious, and it was. Right from the get-go Matthew Perry stole the show and Bruce Willis, Don't Get me Started, Don't even get me started. The best part about the whole movie was seeing Amanda Peetes breasts. Spectacular!!!!! I recommend this movie to all for those who want to settle down to a nice relaxing comedy.

Although the previews slightly ruin this surprisingly funny movie, there were many instances where my laughter brought tears. Eye candy? Amanda Peet - 'nuff said. If you do not want to invest your hard earned money on it, I will recommend it as a Tuesday outing. Jackal - a job well done in the movie big guy - keep up the good work!

This should be aptly titled "Sugar and Shit". This is nothing more than an extended Saved by the Bell episode. The cheerleaders were mildly attractive and the plot...what plot? This movie is stupid and I cannot believe I spent my hard earned money on this one. for one who loves teen movies, this is pretty much the worst.

This gets my worst movie of the year award. i figured with the cast Freddie Prinze, Monica Potter and four knockouts casted as models who can go wrong. I mean, who funded this movie? Seeing this made me realize that my screenplay I am co-writing will have no problem getting backed. The cast ~ hot?-yes The movie ~ Good? NO!!

I was surprisingly impressed by this movie. I knowingly watched the Silence of the Lambs before i went and believe me, it was worthwhile. There are many references to the first movie in this sequel. This movie dives into the psyche and character Hannibal Lecter. Its predecessor only used him as a medium to catch the serial killer in 'Lambs. It was more of his psychological training as opposed to his insanity. this movie portrays Hannibal as he is, vicious and cunning and we learn more about him. I give this movie 9 stars and each of them is earned - however, i do recommend watching the first one beforehand so it is fresh in your minds.

This is a "Sweet Rental" at best. Charlize Theron does a wonderful job with her character. Keanu. tsk tsk. Keanu should stay with what works - keep pumpin out the Matrix sequels buddy. This guy ruined the movie for me. He is no romantic lead. Remember "Walk in the clouds"? Exactly. Usually a story like this brings a lump to my throat. It might have, if another actor was cast. Anyway, if you are looking for a movie to go see with a girl and everything else is sold out - go see this flick, or better yet, wait for it to come to Blockbuster store near you.

ok here's a movie that i always wanted to see, yet never really got around to seeing it. and because it is so critically acclaimed, i'm sure i'll be repeating many with what i have to say about it. my favourite preformance was michael caine (the older dude playing a doc). he was stern, never showing anger, yet always showing compassion. the best looking actor/actress was charlize theron for righteously showing off her sweet behind. Nu-did-ity! It's a story about compassion. A story about love. A story about finding oneself in the world. Mixed in with shock, humor, and warmheartedness. I recommend seeing this flick before you lose too much interest in seeing it, what with all the new releases constantly coming out. No major flaws, no slow moving scenes. No loose ends. I give it 9 stars :)

Sounder (TBS Sunday morning movie)--A tale that begins and ends in the backwoods of the po' Depression-era South. The movie is aptly named after a dog, Sounder, who is shot early on in the film by James Best as Sheriff Young (better known as Rosco P. Coltrane in the 'Dukes of Hazzard'). Sheriff Young is a growlin', hard-nosed, racist pig of a sheriff. When Paul Winfield (as Nathan Lee Morgan) gets caught stealing from his sharecroppin' boss, Sheriff Young won't give him an inch! Nathan's son, David Lee, a young knappy-haired Kevin Hooks goes looking for his now imprisoned father across the fields of Loisiana. He is the star of the show, portraying a young black (with mighty big lips) trying to better himself and educate himself so that he can one day leave the unforgiving world of the po' black sharecropper. A truly haunting effort by all cast members. Loosely based on the beginnings of Dodger Willie Mayes. I recommend it to all lovers of ebonics!

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Do you believe in little green men? Close Encounters stars Richard Dreyfuss. He portrays an aloof sort of man generally tired of the world around him. A "close encounter" with an alien ship one evening leaves him obsessed with a mysterious "mound". He will stop at nothing to find out what this mound symbolizes. The movie is one of the first of its kind. For its era, the special effects are fantastic. Running parallel to Dreyfuss' story is a government project attempting to contact celestial beings. Bob Ballaban (better known to most of us as the NBC exec who goes head-over-heels for Elaine in Seinfeld) is one of the men behind this ultra-secret project. A funny 5-note musical sequence is the avenue for contact between the government officials and the extra-terrestrials. The movie winds around and eventually Dreyfuss is taken aboard the mothership. The first movie of its kind to actually show a peaceful group of aliens. The optimistic lacquer that glosses over this film is downright syrupy, but at least it's refreshing. A classic film for any sci-fi fanatic (which I'm really not--I like sci-fi as much as I like Reg's brown sliver-crack wrapped around my face!). Nonetheless, check it out.

Not as funny as Mary. has it's moments, but doesn't leave you in stitches. a story about a man who meets his gf's parents and has his differences with the dad (de niro). Weird to see deniro act all loveable around a cat. audience feels for stiller's ridicule. just when you thought, "what else could go wrong?" something worse happens. no nudity. a real downer cause the chick is kinda hot. i also found the commercials ruined alot of the funny scenes too. anyway, not bad. not great.

Tiga Tiga Tiga Woods Y'all! Funniest moment of the whole movie. This should tell you never to view this piece of trash. If you want your daily dose of Cris Rock, rent Bigger and Blacker - this movie used so much of the standup from that (the not so funny parts might I add). Anyways be warned, this movie is garbage and I do not recommend it. 1 star - I'm done

This is a charming film about a free-spirited woman (Juliette Binouche) and her young fatherless daughter. They move into a small French town in the 1950's during Lent and open up a Chocolatrie, thus making many enemies right from day one, since EVERYONE follows the rules there. Johnny Depp gets top billing for this film and yet he doesn't enter until about an hour into it and stays for a mere half hour or so (well worth it I might add, he's looking FINE in this movie!). I fully enjoyed every minute of this enchanting tale of how one woman and her chocolate wakes up the sensed and desires of a very sleepy town. Guys - I will admit this movie is not for you, there is virtually no sex, violence or nudity, but if you want to impress your ladies with how sensitive and cultured you are, take your girl to this film, but make sure to stay awake!

excellent movie. jason lee was awesome and goldie hawn's daughter kate hudson was very inspiring. the best scene was the bus ride where they all sing elton john, classic. great insight on how music and bands work. didn't know media was so powerful and meaningful to musicians. exceptional soundtrack. no dry spots. clear message of realizing what's important in life and not taking stuff for granted. "don't do drugs" was consistently funny. brief nudity. uhh, that's all, see it to believe it :)

Just came out on Friday, March 30th, I resist the urge to call it a chick flick...it is more of a date flick. Always popular, Ashley Judd (Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy) does a wonderful job as a girl who routinely gets dumped on. Her acting abilities continue to amaze me (and she's hot too). Up-and-comer, Hugh Jackman (X-Men) does an able job as the "play-boy-who-settles-down". I won't give away the ending but Jackman definitely builds on his "cool" persona established in X-Men. This movie isn't as bad as everyone is saying, in fact, I actually enjoyed it. Still wait for the video. Greg Kinnear (As Good as It Gets) does a good job as "prickish" supporting cast.

The movie is set in the fall and winter of 1942/43. The German "War Machine" has invaded Russia's Stalingrad and has decimated both the morale and reserves of the Russian Red Army. The city is named after the Russian dictator and he will stop at nothing to regain his crumbled city. Enter Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law), a Russian shepherd boy. A chance encounter with German officers, in which he shoots and kills 5, catapults him into the spotlight of the Russian High Command. The Director of Russian propaganda uses Vasilli's heroics to enliven the Russian peoples. As his successes mount, the Germans bring in their own sniper, Major Koenig (Ed Harris). A love story emerges between a Jewish soldier-girl (Rachel Weisz) and Vasilli. The movie portrays the difficulties and strategies that the Battle of Stalingrad presented. A guerilla war of attrition resulted and defeated the "Blitzkrieg" strategy of the German armoured divisions. The story seems to hold true to its historical roots (which is rarely seen in today's Hollywood pics) and delivers a strong, suspenseful storyline that is not clouded by the love interests of Vasilli. A defintie must see, especially if your interests lie in historical docu-dramas (like me!!).

Jeff, I can't believe you thought this movie was as good as you did. I am ashamed that I tought you History because there was no historical content whatsoever in this movie. I think it was Hollywood's portrayal(yet again) of the War and its sexual content. I was disgusted by Ed Harris' character and Jude Law's character was nothing but a sex starved ingrate. I wish they would pull this movie from the theatres and I think we need to talk about your distaste for History.

I won't tell you who wins but I suggest you watch. Ron Eldard is hilarious.
