Sadly, this brilliant and charming series didn't last too long. It was set in the 1950s. The focus of the show was a bright young Jewish teen named Alan Silver, and his extended family and friends, and his Irish Catholic girlfriend, Katie Monihan (who we liked), and her family, and... um, well... hmmm. This show should be sold with dictionaries and referenced under the word "nostalgia," for it is about the purest example of nostalgia that ever there was. So innocent, and endearing, and sweet, and real, and fun, and perfect.... Just great writing, acting, and everything. Also, I loved the theme song (by Art Garfunkel). I'm hoping someday to get a chance to see the series again, and write up a proper review....
