Storm

The endless exspanse that brings night out of day,
Seems much too close, yet too far away,
The raindrops beat drums in a thunderous roar,
Bringing sweet music from a deafening chore,
The lightning bolt's flashes burn in your eyes,
And they pierce through eternity from grey-clouded skies,
The wind climbs up gently, then plummets with ease,
Confined within boundaries to do what it may please,
A random-patterened mixture of water and air,
Making land grow, then stripping it bare,
Laughter and happiness, or sorrow and pain,
How can anyone not love the rain?
