The Creation of the United Nations: October 24, 1945

Oct. 24, 1945: After months of meetings and conferences, the United Nation was created. Though the charter itself was first signed on June 26, 1945 by 50 different countries, Poland later signed to become on of the original 51 countries. On October 24 of 1945, the UN officially came into existence. The purpose behind this action was to replace the discarded League of Nations. The leaders of the countries in the UN were determined not to let the UN fail as the League of Nations did.
