Phoney War: October, 1939 - April, 1940

The Phoney War, or ˇ§sitzkriegˇ¨ was a peaceful standoff between the France, Britain and Germany. The French and the British soldiers stood on the France-Germany border staring across at the Germans and vise versa. Not a shot was fired, but the animosity was there all the same. It was a strange clam that lasted seven months.
