Operation Torch: November 9, 1942
Nov. 9, 1942:
The Allied forces agreed that they needed to chase the Italians out of North Africa to secure their own resources and give them a different attack point. On Nov. 9, 1942, a joined effort between American and British forces began Operation Torch. There was a large sea battle and the Italians were forced into full retreat. The fall of the Italian forces had begun.
