EXHIBITORS:  YOU WILL RECEIVE A FORM FOR SIGNING UP FOR ROM SEPARATELY.  TERI BLAIR WILL BE HANDLING THE ROM PROGRAM.

 

Shows throughout the state have different classes that may affect the results of the 8 best shows, please be aware,

you may want to attend different club shows to attain your 8 best shows.

 

Classes that are confusing to some---English Pleasure (age groups)  this class is open for both saddle seat and

hunter type riders----English Pleasure, Hunter Type (age group) is open to only hunter seat riders,  be aware that some areas have one or the other and some have both.

 

When shows offer a printout of your placings at a show be sure to pick one up…..read the class name for accuracy

so that you will be receiving your points for the correct class.  YOUR HELP MAKES OUR JOB EASIER.

 

Remember you can have your points audited—when you send in your points and we verify them ($10.00)

To calculate your points for your 8 best shows….Look at the class you are signed up in

Such as Western Pleasure Open…..there are several (and maybe only one at a show)…such as

Western Pleasure, Mares and Stallions

Western Pleasure, Geldings

Western Pleasure, Women to ride

Western Pleasure, Gentlemen to ride

Western Pleasure Open Championship

Each one of these classes will add together for that show for one set of points towards Western Pleasure Open.

Each class can have a variation, yet the points will added together for a particular class for that show.

 

BECOME AWARE AND READ YOUR PREMIUM CAREFULLY SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW  ACCURATELY HOW

MANY POINTS YOU HAVE.

 

There are 4 new classes for 2006- English Pleasure, Hunter Type, Open,  Beginner Trail Horse, Advanced Hunt Seat/Saddleseat Equitation, and Advanced Stock Seat Horsemanship.

Rule 3-Recognized Horse Shows

 

Sec. 7  Add-Stewards must be licensed by WSH at all recognized B-System shows. APPROVED

 

Rule 8-Special Awards

 

Sec. 1 #2 Remove- b. Show in at least 8 USAE Regular Member or National Breed Association shows, or 80% of shows offered, if fewer than 8 are available.

Rule 14-Arabian Horse Division

 

Sec. 5 #2 Delete Mares & Gelding, Colts 1 Year & Under-Replace with ANY AGE, ANY SEX-APPROVED

 

 

Rule 18-Driving Division

 

Sec. 1 #9.  Modify the rule to read: Reverse may be executed either on the rail or on the diagonal at the walk to trot at the discretion of the judge. APPROVED

 

Rule 19-English Division

 

Should the English division specify using the Hunter Tack and Attire requirements?  YES

 

 

Rule 20-Equitation Division

 

Sec. 3 In Equitation Classes including Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat, Stock Seat and Bareback, the judge has the option to do any one of the following:

(Remove previous specs requiring rail work and backing in line up)1.  Rail work showing three gaits (two for walk/trot) both directions, with extension of one gait, and a back-up either on the rail or in line up.

 

2.  Pattern work only, with no rail work required.

 

3.  A combination of pattern and rail work. APPROVED

   

 

Sec. 3 #1.  Add:  All turns of 180 degrees or more on the haunches shall be to the right.  Forehand turns of any degree to either direction are permissible.

Sec. 3 #6.  Delete …not to execute a change of direction (ie. A pivot or turn of any degree).  Add Pivots are allowed.DELETE: Not to execute a change of direction.  ADD: turns are allowed but not mandatory.  APPROVED 

 

Sec. 3

Advanced  Hunt Seat/Saddleseat  Equitation

Each contestant will be required to complete a pattern. Rail work one direction of the ring is optional . All patterns will be completed before the rail work is to be performed. The performance begins when the horse and rider combination enters the ring. Communication between horse and rider should be subtle and should not obvious. Horses gaits should be ridden with the same cadence and speed, as you would find on the rail phase. Patterns may consist of but are not limited to; walk, sitting trot, trot, extended trot, demonstrating a change of a diagonal, canter, hand gallop, in a straight line, curved line, serpentine, circle, or figure 8, or combination of these gaits and maneuvers, stop, back in a straight or curved line, turn or pivot, side pass,  two track, leg yield, flying or simple change of the lead, counter canter, or ride without irons. The exhibitors will not be asked to mount or dismount. The ideal pattern is extremely precise with the horse and rider working in complete unison, executing each maneuver with subtle aids and cues. The exhibitors overall poise, confidence, appearance, and position throughout the class as well as the physical appearance of the horse will be evaluated. The class is to be judged on the overall appearance of the exhibitor and horse, position of the rider, performance of the pattern, and performance of the horse and rider. Appropriate hunt seat or saddleseat attire is required.

Advanced Stock Seat Horsemanship 

Each contestant will be required to complete a pattern.  Rail work one direction of the ring is optional.  All patterns will be completed before the rail work is to be performed. The pattern is to be designed to test the horseman’s ability. The pattern may include but is not limited to; walk, jog, trot, extended trot, lope, extended lope, in a straight line, curved line, serpentine, circle, or figure 8, or combination of these gaits and maneuvers, stop, back in a straight or curved line, turn or pivot, including spins and rollbacks on the haunches and/or forehand, sidepass, two track, leg yield, flying or simple change of the lead, counter canter, or ride without stirrups. The exhibitors will not be asked to mount or dismount. The performance begins when the horse and rider combination enters the ring. The stock seat equitation class is designed to evaluate the rider’s ability, in conformity with his or her horse, a set of maneuvers that has been posted with smoothness and precision while exhibiting poise and confidence and maintaining a balanced, functional, fundamentally correct body position. The ideal pattern is extremely precise with the horse and rider working in complete unison, executing each maneuver with subtle aids and cues. The exhibitors overall poise, confidence, appearance, and position throughout the class as well as the physical appearance of the horse will be evaluated. The class is to be judged on the overall appearance of the exhibitor and horse, position of the rider, performance of the pattern, and performance of the horse and rider. Appropriate western attire must be worn. APPROVED

Reining Division:

1.        Delete the requirement that each rider drop the bit to the judge.  Leave it to the judge’s choice as to whether they want to see it. APPROVED

 

2.        Simple patterns 1 thru 4 may be used in place of the more advanced NRHA patterns.  Patterns are available. APPROVED 

 

Rule 36-Western Division

Sec. 3 #4 Replace CROSS ENTRY ALLOWED with Cross Entry Not Allowed.

Violations

 

A.       Any member may be suspended or denied privileges of the Association and any non-member may be denied the privileges of the Association for the failure to pay when due any obligation owing the Association.  This includes but is not limited to an approved show, or for giving a worthless check for entry fees, stall fees, office charges, stock charges or any other fees or charges including bank charges for returned checks connected with the exhibition of horses or any other related fees.

B.       Any member who has been duly notified by the Horse Show Director via Certified/Registered Mail advising them that they have incurred a bad debt, after a (30) thirty day grace period, shall be barred from having their points count from the date of the notice until the debt is paid.

C.       When any person is guilty of the following: failure to pay when due any obligations owing to the Association; giving a worthless check or otherwise failing to pay for entry fees, stall fees, office charges connected with the exhibition of horses, such person, whether member or non-member, will be subject to disciplinary procedures insofar as practical including but not limited to awards, points and prize money’s being withheld until debt is paid.  Debt must be made good within (15) fifteen days of the bad debt being incurred.  Payment must also include any additional fees.  (ie. NSF fee, processing fee, etc.) APPROVED

 

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

A.       Conduct by WSH members, non-members, exhibitors, trainers, owners, owner’s representatives, spectators, and all other persons present on the show grounds or in show facilities, events where the WSH has approved or sponsored the event, the event is held in conjunction with a WSH-approved event added money or awards, shall be orderly, responsible, sportsmanlike and humane in the treatment of horses/humans, such as to promote the implementation of the show or event and promote fair competition.

 APPROVED:Unsportsmanlike or irresponsible conduct or any other form of misconduct, that is illegal, indecent, profane, intimidating, threatening, harassing, or abusive is prohibited, as is the inhumane treatment of horses.

1.        Further, Show Management may immediately expel offenders from show arena, show grounds or show facilities, forfeiting all prizes and awards with no refund of fees paid in order to preserve the decorum of the show and shall file a written report with WSH concerning the transaction.

2.       WSH may take further action to any offenders which may include but are not limited to imposing fines or suspension from future shows.                  APPROVED
