RIFLE
You will need a rifle. We require that you have a military type rifle but it doesn't have to be. If you need one and don't know what to get here are a few examples: AR-15, AK-47, AK-74, Garand, Mini-14, AR-10, SKS, Mauser(any caliber) etc. This will be your main weapon. So remember the bigger the rifle the heavier it and the ammo will be. Also if you do not have one and do get one please remember that not all calibers of ammo are readily available. So if you do get one like a Mauser 8mm then you will need to get as much ammo as possible for it. The unit will not supply your ammo for you. Now that being said for whatever rifle you do choice to have we require you to have a minimum of 200 rounds for that rifle at all times. You are also required to have a minimum of 2000 rounds that is accessible at all times.
PISTOL
This is not required in this unit but if you do wish to carry one then so be it. If you do wish to carry one then you are required to have a minimum of 100 rounds for that pistol along with 4 mags or speedloaders. As I have said before it is not required but having one might save you when the time comes.
AMMO
As stated before you will need a minimum of 200 rounds at all times for your rifle and 2000 rounds minimum also for your rifle. If you choose to carry a pistol then you will need a minimum of 100 rounds and 4 mags or speedloaders for that pistol. When you do get ammo for your rifle and/or pistol please do not get any illegal ammo. This unit will NOT support any illegal activities.
PACK
Ok now its time to talk about packs. You will need one to carry all of your gear. There are a lot of military surplus packs out there. We recommend the alice pack or the CFP-90 pack both very good. Also the pack that you choose needs to be either olive drab or camo. Now I do know some people who have back issues or they can't make the packs listed above work for them. So in those cases please get a pack that will work for you but in those colors stated as before and are military approved.
LBE
LBE(Load Bearing Equipment) You will need to get one so you can carry your mags for your rifle along with other things. There are many different types out there so you pick and choose which type you want to get. If you need help finding the right one for you let us know and we will be glad to help you out on choosing one that will suit your needs.
BDU's
BDU's (Battle Dress Uniform) are required in this unit. There are many different types out there. To give an example there are: woodland camo, tiger stripe, realtree, or even the new marpat digital woodland camo. These will all work and there are many more to choice from. Just remember when choosing think about what type of enviroment you will be in. After doing so you will need 2 sets of uniforms minimum.
COVER
You will need 2 hats or cover for your uniform. Also you will need a helmet. We recommend a U.S.G.I. steel pot or kevlar helmet. Trust me when it comes time you will be glad to have one.
BOOTS
Now if you dont know why you need boots then there is something wrong with you. You will need boots to protect your feet from the enviroment. Choose a good pair that has good support for your ankles along with steel shank to give support for your feet and to give some protection against sharp objects from entering the bottom of your feet.
RADIO
You will need to have a 2-way radio with spare batteries. This is not priority but you will need one. If you don't know what type to get just ask and we will be more than happy to send you some info on some that are used.
FOOD
This is also a requirement to have especially when your out in the field. You will need 7 days of food minimum. We recommend MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat). They can be quite expensive but worth it when you need them. There are other types like freeze dried food but require water and you need water more than food to survive in the field.
