Pittsburgh Playoff predictions: Projected by Michael Gore Detroit Tampa bay Detroit Tampa Bay San Jose Philadelphia Colorado COLORADO Tampa Bay Colorado Boston Colorado Ottawa Vancouver Ottawa All team Reports by Michael Gore The Flames are third in their division, and basically out of the playoff race. They had very low action before the trade deadline, which has put the Stanley cup even further out of reach. With games coming up against hard teams, the Flames are trying to just finish the season without a bad record. If Dave Lowry was healthy, this team could overturn Vancouver. The MVP now is Jarome Iginla, the leader of the team. No one can Beat 6 PPG or 64 points. MG The avalanche has all but secured their place in the Stanley cup tournament. With peter Forsberg back from an Injury, this team is probably the strongest in the division, and league. They have been doing extremely well for having their star player out for so long, and now they will be even better. There is no definite MVP in this star studded team, with Sackic, Hedjuk, Forsberg, and Blake. MG The Wild are out of the playoffs period. What this team needs most is a big name player that will attract other players to play on a well established team. Where has Wez Waltz been this year? He is usually one of the top three players on this team, but has dropped to a less prominent player. Time to retire yet? Andrew Brunette, the tree year vet, is the most naturally talented on the team. In a few years, he will be a big name that will help Minnesota. MG The Canuks have been doing very well this year, for all of the injured players on the roster. The playoffs are almost out of reach, with a horrible month, including the suspension of all-star Todd Bertuzzi, who was suspended by the NHL for breaking Steve Moore’s neck against the Avalanche. Also, another big hurt is the return of Peter Forsberg of the avalanche, who has been hurt almost all season. With a late surge, Colorado will keep Bertuzzi-less Vancouver out of the playoffs. Markus Naslund has defined his name and presence even more boldly, but will not do as well as last year, when he scored a career high 104 points. MG Wow. With a low payroll and no star players, the Oilers have done very well. Their division is one of the hardest to succeed in with the dominating Avalanche. There is not that much that the oilers have done trade wise lately, but if they would have went out and reached some of the big names that they were offered, then they could have easily overtaken Vancouver. Brad Isbister, who was traded from the Carolina Hurricanes last year, was out for over a month with an ankle problem. If he can remain healthy for the rest of the season, His team will be highly benefited from his leader presence on the ice, especially with all of the younger players on the team right now. MG The Sharks will have to remain winning to hold on to their playoff birth for this season. The stars are fighting hard, but if the sharks can hold on, who knows what damage they will do? Can this underdog team really do this well or is it an illusion? Patrik Marleu is the teams MVP. MG The player that is the most valuable to the Coyotes now is Shane Doan. This captain is basically the only player name known on this team now. He often comments on how hockey is doing with its rules. He is obviously the MVP, and has a shot at the mvp. THE MOST UNDERRATED PLAYER IN THE NHL. MG The lightning, as the first team in the playoffs, needs to show it’s power. Will their stars keep shining until the end? Hopefully. There is not much to say about the lightning, except that the GM has had good sense with trades. MG The maple leaves have been the most active team in terms of trades. They acquired Brian leech from the rangers, and are also doing very well with what they have. Look for them near the Stanley cup. MG
