The owners have spoken, and beginning in 2006, the MGTPBL will utilize the standard 1 v. 8, 2 v. 6, etc. playoff format. First round winners will advance in a bracket-style tournaent (ala., the NCAA basketball pairings) to determine the league champion.
Although only a handful of league owners responded to the question regarding altering the league's trading rules, enough of a consensus was arrived at to allow a change.
Starting immediately, the league's trading window will be open year-round. With the exception of the period extending from the MLB's All-Star game in July to the end of the MGTPBL's playoffs when no transactions will be allowed unless a player goes on the DL, any other time owners can freely trade players and/or draft picks. Owners will only be charged the $1 fee during the league's regular season (March-July). In other words, trades made during the off-season are free.

Aaron Wasser reports he tallied 110 points this season. Randy Foster and Bryce Court have also indicated they have topped the daily 100 point barrier this season. ... Scott Williams' oufielder, Carl Crawford, scored 32 points (5 for 5 including a HR and 4 SB) on one day during week 8.
TRADING WINDOW IS OPEN
Under the new league rules, off-season trading is now allowed. Owners will not be charged for transactions made during the off-season prior to the 2006 draft (probably sometime in March). Remember, if draft picks are involved, no owner may acquire (or be down) any more than 2 draft picks for any future draft. That said, let the wheelin' and dealin' begin.

The Much Greater Than Palouse Baseball League was formed as a 16-team league by Laurence Miedema (and a few others) in 1994. Although originally titled the Palouse Baseball League, the name was changed in 1995 when members outside of the Palouse region were added to the pool. Past league champions include:
