Students Against
Destructive Decisions

Helping Our Teens Together (H.O.T.T.) is a prevention team consisting of Mark Morris High School students, parents, community coalitions, and concerned citizens. Student membership is open to any Mark Morris High School student with a sincere desire to help others. We strive to reduce substance abuse, suicide, violence, and other destructive decisions amongst our peers and community members. We are a nationally recognized SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter, frequently work with the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society, and participate in Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU) .

H.O.T.T. works to meet our goals by providing accurate information to others, promoting healthy lifestyles, and positive role modeling. In addition to meeting our objectives to help others is the esteem we raise amongst our members: H.O.T.T. members receive ongoing education and experience in leadership skills, communication techniques, letter writing, fundraising, being a community coalition member, and being a positive leader. We also practice team building, facilitating trust, working with legislators, and building healthy relationships with others.

If you have questions about H.O.T.T., please do not hesitate to contact our advisor, Krista Pedersen, via email: kpedersen@longview.k12.wa.us or by phone: (360) 575-7670.
