1.25 Release!(10/15/01 )

I'm happy to announce that version 1.25 is ready to be played on time. However, there are several bugs to work out still (but the party system seems to work without a hitch). The main server will be up for as long as possible-with version 1.25. It may go down during the day tomorrow while I'm at school, but after that I'll post the 1.25 release with all the small bugs fixed in the hub and the main server will be up permanently from now on. Anyone who sent me character stats will get their new characters, but I have to be in the game to give them to you. I will post version changes and next version stuff tomorrow night when I put the release in the hub.

1.25 tomorrow...(10/14/01 )

Prior to earlier announcements, and due to unforseen bugs in compiling the newest version of the game, the 1.25 update release will be delayed until tomorrow night. For sure. I could theoretically fix the update and make it work for tonight, but it would have several things missing that I really want to add still. Therefore, check tomorrow night for the 1.25 update-100% for sure it shall be ready for release. Sorry for the delay.

1.25 on the way (10/9/01 )

The update is getting closer and closer to being ready-it will most likely be out by the weekend. It's taking a lot longer, because I'm adding much more stuff than I had previously planned, or mentioned on the next update page. I've spent the last three days alone tweaking the party system to make it run without a hitch-it is possible that party to party battles will be in the 1.25 release. The main server will be up whenever I can put it up-so start sending me your stats here. Only characters at level 10 or above will be accepted, and even then they will be somewhat screened. If you have sent me email in the past week or so, please be patient waiting for a response, I've been quite busy lately.

1.25 a bit late (10/1/01 )

As is becoming more typical of my release dates, 1.25 will be late. There is a long explanation for why it will be late, but basically I got busy this weekend and couldn't finish it in time. I most likely won't get a chance to work on the update until this weekend, I have a lot of stuff to do for school. This late release makes me on time only 50% of the scheduled release dates. Hopefully I can improve that, but stuff happens. Also, there are rumors of a player wipe floating around-these rumors are somewhat true. The 1.25 update changes so much that a player wipe is needed, but here is the scoop. I could theoretically save all current player files, but that would delay the update by at least two weeks. Or, the solution I'm leaning towards is to give select players over level 10 new characters with levels according to their current experience with the new system. All of these people will have to promise not to kill a single new character, or face being deleted. If your player is deleted, the game will be so different it will be like playing a new one, so it isn't totally bad. I've never done a pwipe before, but for the sake of the game I think it is needed this time. Any input you have about this should be posted on the forums, I read everything that is posted there. Thanks for your patience in waiting for what will be the biggest update this game has ever had.

1.20 Fixes + Shtuff(9/25/01 )

Tonight I made some fixes to version 1.20 concerning the party system, but there are still a lot of bugs left. To aid in the fixing of these bugs, please post a detailed description of them on the Bug Report forums. Also, anyone who is hosting their own server should redownload 1.20 from the hub to get the most recent fixes. The main server should be up all day tomorrow. 1.25 looks like it should be on time, but we'll see. After 1.25 I'm going to reformat the website and post all the weapon pages etc.

 

1.20 Update Released (9/20/01 )

Well, 1.20 is finally here. Not too many changes, but partying is back in. Thanks for being patient, hope you enjoy the party system-it took forever to fix up. Report any bugs in the party system to the bug report forums, and I'll try and fix them right away. !!UPDATE!! After releasing the party upgrade, I have found that there are some pretty bad bugs in it, although my testing revealed none. If you encounter one of these bugs, report it right away with a DETAILED description, and I'll fix it as soon as possible. Thanks.

 

1.20 Delayed (9/16/01 )

Although I was almost positive I would get the 1.20 release out on time, I don't think that I'm going to be able to pull it off. I should have it finished for tomorrow night. The only changes in the 1.20 update are some bug fixes, the party system back in, and a walkspeed restriction to make movement smoother. Not really affecting anyone but me in this update, is the fact that I have totally rearranged my code, making it easier for me to do new things and make changes. The next update page now has release info for version 1.25, which will be by far the biggest update yet, in terms of gameplay changes and new stuff. Check it out

 

1.20 Release Coming Today... (9/16/01 )

Version 1.20 will be released today, hopefully sometime before 3:00 pm pacific time (but not for sure). Partying will be back in, but party to party battles may not be in the initial 1.20 release. Also, there will be no PWIPE. The main server should be up when 1.20 comes out, and will be up the rest of the day. I haven't been home for the last few days, and that is the reason the server has been down. If all goes well, a I'm planning a huge update for sometime next week.

 

Back in Time Bug (9/11/01 )

The back in time bug is fixed, it has been fixed for a week now. The problem is caused by older save files. Basically, a bug in an older version of the game caused a copy of certain characters to be stored within others. When those characters log on, your older character file within them is saved as your current one. The bug is fixed upon login, but there is now way to prevent your old character from being saved as your current one. However, starting a new character, or even a PWIPE would fix this as well. Please voice your input and thoughts on a PWIPE in the forums.

 

Several Changes to 1.15 (9/10/01 )

I finally fixed the damage formula, you should no longer be getting weird attack numbers. I've also changed the monster's stats accordingly, but as the night goes on I'll make any balance changes that are needed. Several other small changes - magic costs have been decreased and attack spell damage has gone up. On top of that, the bug that left multiple "mayors" should be fixed. I am not giving this update the 1.20 title, because that update is still on the way.

 

1.15 Update Released(9/9/01 )

Only about 4 hours later than scheduled, the 1.15 update has a lot of new stuff to check out. Please report any bugs that you find with this new version to the bug report forum. Thanks.p>

 

Update Soon(9/5/01 )

I am currently putting the finishing touches upon the next update, version 1.15. However, I have changed what will be different in this update, so recheck the next version page for more info. Also, this update will NOT be released until I can fix the "back in time" or level loss bug, so I need someone to give me an accurate description of what happens, and how it happens (go to the bug report forum). Finally, the main server will be up later tonight and hopefully all of tomorrow, so check it out.
