The Day

Ever since the day that time began, oh life was simple then.

Getaway

I can see some points of light shining
Circling my head way up so high.
I can see the "Man in the Moon" laughing
At the thoughts I had when I was young.
I can see the Sun waking on the horizon
Only to say hi, how are you?

So lets runaway to my getaway
Where the spring air is always clear
Where the eagles glide & the streams may cry
Letting you know that I'm here.

I can hear the wind from time to time
Whispering through the willow trees.
I can hear those soft-spoken words
From your lips, through the breeze.
They tell me of the dream you had last night
Under the stars so bright.

So lets runaway to my getaway
It's kind of a Shangri-La.
Come with me & you will see,
To a place you will never - ever - believe.

Oh I know this land is magical
It's a miracle & has yet to be found.
Oh I know you have been there long ago
Late one night when your eyes came to close.
And I know that this is only a dream,
A thought of fate, destiny, & a beach so brown.

Sometimes I wonder when I look into her eyes
What would she see in me?
When I stare at the horizon oh so far away, the Sun at dawn,
White clouds go gray.
And so I wonder how her eyes shine oh so bright,
Were they once stars in the night?

How would this seem to be?

Now the Sun has gone back to bed, leaving the stars above,

He then told me his wise word.
I listened contentedly for a while or so,
Then she gazed into my eyes, into my soul.

How would this seem to be?

As I stare at the horizon oh so far away, with the day anew,
She says, - "I love you".
She wakes with a sigh & then opens her eyes,

Oceanside

Sitting here by the oceanside, just watching the waves role by
With the wind in my hair, right now as I stare.
On every wave I send a thought, someday to X-marks the spot.
A treasure lies at this spot, a treasure I dearly love.
Better than diamonds & more precious than pearls,
I love it more than anything in the world.
You are the treasure so special to me,
From a Sailor floating in the sea.

Sitting here by the oceanside, the Sun begins to hide.
The "Man in the Moon" brings forth twilight.
He pokes holes in the sky, seems more every night,
Well after the Suns bedtime, is that our star over there
Twinkling as it shines.
But some of these stars, they will fall,
And I wish upon them all.
I wish I were home so you won't be alone.
