Tad arrived on Ramsey street to stay with his cousin, Toadie whilst his parents, Barry and Coral were having trouble at home. He and Paul McClain became good friends and Tad settled down to life in Ramsey street. However, Toadie was becoming very busy with his Law degree and he had to arrange for Tad to go home. Instead Tad moved in with Harold and Madge Bishop. Tad got a shock when he found out that he was adopted and decided to find who heis real mother was. He did find his mother, Rachel but she had already got another family and was not interested in getting to know him. Only weeks later though Rachels husband, Steven visited him and broke the news that Rachel had died. Tad was upset but then Steven told him that his half brother, Tim needed a bone marrow transplant and that Tad was his only chance. Tad had the operation and saved Tim's life. Shortly afterwards Madge died of cancer and this came as another blow to Tad. Tad and Paul then fell out over a girl called Larissa. Paul had met her whilst in France but Tad had been e-mailing her pretending to be Paul. When she came to Erinsborough she dated both of them behind the others back, leading to a huge argument between Paul and Tad. They eventually made up though and Tad started seeing Felicity Scully but that only lasted a short while before they split. He started a dj-ing course at uni after finishing school and decided to continue living with Harold even after Paul's departure to play football. Harold wasn't happy when Tad started seeing a girl called Cherry and Harold tried to tell Tad that he didn't like Cherry staying the night. This caused friction between harold and Tad and Cherry dumped Tad following some comments Harold made to her. Needless to say, Tad was not happy. After Cherry, Elly started to take an interest in him, but he turned her down. His Dj-ing career was given a boost when he was offered a chance to go to America. He accepted, but was frantic when his passport could not be found. It became clear that someone had taken it - but who? Soon Tad was recieving bills for things he hadn't bought and was in serious trouble. It soon transpired that it was Doula, his old dj boss who had ripped him off and he had reported. Tad set out to prove it. Seeing Doula chatting to a man at her club about him, he appraoched them and the man took off, Tad giving chase. Harold received a phone call shortly afterwards that there had been an accident - Tad was in hospital. On arrival at hospital he was told that Tad didn't make it. Confusion followed when Harold discovered the body wasn't tad's - it was that of the man who had been using Tad's identity and tad was safe. He left for the Extreme dj tour in America as planned.
