LAYIN DOWN THE BUMBERSHOOT

So, I went with my bro to Bumbershoot two sundays ago. He didn't bash on my idea to take like a giant one year roadtrip all over our sacred land of the americas. I'm not actually planning on traveling to South America, I just wanted to sound fancy with the plural of america.... Shove off! So yeah, we talked about the for a good deal of time. Talked about youth hostiles and places I can stay for little to no money. Just gotta save up the cash for a crusty car and a year's supply of food and such. Or something I can sell along the journey. Man, I just wanna get out of Steilacoom. Anywhere but here. The best way to do that, is go anywhere else but here.

Now that I have gotten off topic, I shall return. Anyway, Bumbershoot is great. So much culture and life. Saw some black and white movies at the film festival they held there. Much talent as far as directing goes, they need some help on funding though for christ's sake. The breakdance competition was freakin sweet. Those Crasians man, they know their stuff. Lay it down everytime. Halos to windmills to babies, back to halos to 1990s. Crazy stuff. Dude didn't win though. Not enough style and had no footwork. Just a crowd pleasing son of a gun. But, cool nonetheless. Some of the hand stand shizzle was crazy. This dude stays on his hands the entire time and dances on them. Quite nutty. So much better than watching Eric's videos over and over and over at his house. Live stuff is way cooler. Skipped out on Vendetta Red. Accoustics were uber-terrible. Sounded like garbage to me. Got irritated and left. Besides, I'm seein them for the 4th time on the 28th with Maddy, Sean and the crew. Man, so many great shows coming up, Ima be broke as a bloke.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS, part 3

  • Will be held Wednesday, October 1st 2003
  • 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
  • $5 presale / $7 at the door
  • Years to Zero, Mechanical Dolls, and more...

I'd be able to do more in a shorter amount of time, if they hadn't disabled the email, message boards and all the websites I receive information from. Stupid school. This fundraiser is for the senior class. 107.7 The End may be there to hand out freebies. I'd be able to keep in contact better.... but the tech people at this school suck. Can't even go to kitsapbands.com. Pathetic.

UPCOMING SHOWS

CLUB IMPACT

It's on Puyallup Ave. in Tacoma. This place is more comfortable than Hell's Kitchen, but the sound quality isn't as good, in my opinion. The bigger name bands seem to play here more often. This club has been in business for 6 or more years, so it's easier for them to attract the attention. Has video games, foosball, and a pool table if I remember correctly. Cheap food too.

HELL'S KITCHEN

Located on 6th Avenue in Tacoma, it's become an awesome venue for local music. It has only been open for a little over a year. It has some pool tables in the back and has a couple video games. A nicer stage and better sound than Impact, but can hold much less occupancy. There's a convienece store right across the street for convienence, hence the name. Some good stuff out here.

none.
