Search Angels are individuals who volunteer their personal time and resources to help members of the adoption triad with their searches. Some can help throughout the entire state, and some are limited to a specific city or county. Assistance can range from a simple phone and address lookup to more complex research through private or membership-only databases. Search Angels generally offer their services free of charge, but may request small donations or reimbursement to help cover out-of-pocket expenses.
Every member of the adoption triad has a story to tell - emotions, experiences, and mistakes to share with those who are following behind us. They may be an adoptee searching for their roots, a birthparent searching for the child they relinquished or had taken away, a brother or sister looking for the sibling they never met, or an adoptive parent who wishes to open new doors for their adopted child. Whoever they are... whatever the reason... these are our stories.
The featured searches on these pages will change each month. They will be posted according to the adoptee's birth month. If you are involved in a search for an adoptee who was born in the current month, please review this page. The person you are searching for may also be searching for you.
Dedicated to adoptees and birthparents who died before they had the chance to be reunited with their loved ones who were lost because of adoption. Honoring Jean Patton, Orphan Voyage Founder and Executive Director. This is the story of how Jean Patton started the adoption reform movement in America many years ago.
