Finished fitting the rear bumper
Another shot of the fit rear bumper
Right side skirt fitted
Left side skirt fitted
An accident in the garage snapped one side skirt
The side skirt after it was re-paneled and fiberglassed
The rear grill epoxied
The side grills epoxied

At this point, all the pieces have been fit to the car and have had corresponding grills
epoxied into place. We sanded every tiny bump in the fiberglass, shooting for a picture perfect
paintjob. On the front bumper, the presence of airbubbles convinced our painter to call the car
back in after 2 weeks, rebuffer and repaint this section of the car, and make it baby smooth.

You can see here the hoses and casings which I am planning on painting either apple green or midnight blue.

So we went from a decent looking 97 toyota camry, approx. 5 inches off the ground, to a
gorgeous jet black machine 2 inches off the ground and it cost me less than $600. If you go
buy a body kit and have it professionally installed and painted, you will get the same results
for a little more than $2000. Yay for me.

Here's the plan for whats coming next, somewhat in order of happening most recent to most in future:

  • Painting the hoses and casing under the hood either midnight/navy blue or apple green.
  • When we take the car in to get buffered and repainted, we are gonna see if they will pull the dent and paint the hood. Yes...I hit a mailbox...deal with it.
  • I bought side paneling to go over the screws on the rear bumper (it looks like the paneling half way up on the doors)
  • Adding hydraulics to hold up the hood instead of the wire thingy.
  • New Rims and Tires (Looking at Ryver, Enkei, and QT, so expensive!) They will have to be atleast 18" and 225/45/18 or my car will bottom out going to Safeway :)
  • New Sound System? I don't really listen to my music ridiculously loud though but everyone thinks I suck without it.
  • TRD Air Intake (one option for Christmas)
  • Whiteline Sway Bar (another option for Christmas)
  • Prelude Style Spoiler - yes thats right, Preludes have the same size and shape trunk as Camry's (or some years do)
  • Anyone wanna buy me a carbon fiber hood?
  • Supercharger?!? (maybe in 4 years or if i strike it rich or if Eddie sends me one)
