TELEPHONE VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT PITCH
"Hello, (Mrs., Miss, or Mr.), my name is _________________ and I'm calling from Republican Headquarters in King County. This is a crucial year for the Republican Party, as I'm sure you know, and we need your help in holding a registration drive on (day, date). To do a good job, we need about 200 people walking door-to-door to make sure all Republicans are registered to vote. We would like to know if you would be willing to volunteer Just a few hours of your time to Join with your fellow Republicans in this canvass on (date). We really do need your help."
IF YES, THEN CONFIRM NAME AND PHONE NUMBER, AND CLOSE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
"Thank you very much for volunteering to help. We will be sending you a confirmation letter In the next several days with all the necessary information."
IF NO, THEN CLOSE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
"Well, thank you for your time."
Each volunteer phone caller should be told to put the response information on the index card which already contains the contactís name and phone number. Sometimes the contact will say he or she can't volunteer for door-to-door at the date or time needed, but would be willing to volunteer on another project at some other time. This helps give King County extra volunteers for other activities.
