Sunwarmed Water

You capture my attention with laughter that turns wintertime into spring.
You are yielding to me as sun-warmed water,
Unselfish as an evergreen is true.
You slip into my soul like smoke thru a keyhole,
And wrap ghostly tendrils gently around my heart.
You rush thru me fierce as a flashflood over paving stones,
And draw my passion like water from a well.
You surround me like the heavens on a desert starry night,
Perpetual as the North Star, constant and sure my guide.
You are certain and trusting,
Open as the wonder in a child's eyes.
My vulnerabilities are safe, tucked lovingly into your breast pocket.
You are my renaissance, my oasis, my port in every storm.
