I will keep a candle burning,
And an umbrella beside the door in case of rain.
It’s easy to come and go,
What’s hard is to remain.
When you’ve lost your heart,
I will tender mine.
I will love on faith alone,
Shelter your spirit, your soul, and your mind.
Like wildflowers in sun-warmed mountain rock,
I’ll hold fast, and hazard chance.
I’ll scoff the restless wind
With a grin and backward glance.
I will linger as the season changes,
Drink in lemonade sun on the porch…
...Love is always only one heartbeat away,
And life is much too short.
