Beach

Beach grass sways in the coastal breeze,
Sea-saltiness on my skin,
Back pressed against weathered driftwood…
Barefoot-prints fading in the sand.
Twin Rocks jut out of the gray-green ocean
Glistening waves crash at their barnacled base,
White-winged gulls soar out into,
The descending dusky haze.
Pale orange and crimson on the water and sky,
Paint the supper twilight…
Cresting swells break on the mica-flecked shore,
Bathed in the Pacific full-moonlight.
