Pushing Away
To be in my life, someone to hold, someone to love
I can talk to you about anything
But I try not to, because I am afraid
Afraid I’ll become too attached
Afraid to let you too far in
I’ve been hurt so bad before
I am not good in the area of love
One area in which I fail to succeed
It eats me up inside to see you
Yet it tears me apart, when I am not with you
Together we are, trying to straighten up
Trying to conquer this ordeal
A rule not to be broken, relationships,
So I push you away
And live a life of never knowing.
