They're at it again. The Martians have to come back every 50 years or so and cause havoc. Otherwise, science fiction wouldn't be the same.
Steven Spielburg directs an all-star cast in his new film, based on George Orwell's book, The War of the Worlds. Actor Tom Cruise and several others including Spielburg have put other projects on hold for the remake of this classic story, which Spielburg claims is going to be the best science-fiction film ever.
The famous story was a shock to radio consumers in the 1940's when the fictitious story was released as a radio brodcast in real time, scaring many into believing that the Earth was actually under attack by aliens. Almost every major motion pucture involving science fiction and extra-terrestrials since has borrowed from this original theme created by Orwell, such as Independence Day (1994).
The film was originally scheduled to be released in 2007, but will now finish post-production some time during 2005.
