Take one good look at her
What do you see?
Well it's quite obvious
That she's exteremely happy
But it wasn't always a rainbow
It used to be real cloudy
In her life were unspeakable things
But you see it's all over and she can reach for the sky as if she were a tall tree
When she was 7 in 1991
Her life ended as she knew it
Her parents were divorced and she would rarely see her father
Nothing was left to her childhood, not even a little bit
For every trial she went through He was whispering lessons in her ears
He never left her
He always stood by
He'll never run away
He won't even try
But that's not were it stopped, oh no!
Her mother had him
That horrid drunkard
While her visits with her dad were slim
But in 1998 at age 12
It all changed
Her momma married a man 13 years younger
That left the rainbow girl caged
You see her momma's new beast
Well he would verbally abuse this girl
Telling her she was stupid and such
When i think of what he said it makes me want to hurl
When she asked her daddy to go for custody
As she expected there was the beast
He'd yell and scream then scream and yell
For him her low self-esteem was a tasty feast
Well on june 28, 1999 her life changed
Her momma said she could go
But had to call if she wanted back
So the rainbow girl never felt sorrow
She's been at her dad's ever since
Loving life and praising God
Life's too good she says
She's as smug as a pea in it's pod
Remember this though, it's the only thing
The only thing that got her through 14 years
It was her maker all the way
back
