The Basics:

My name's Alyssa, and I am 16 years old. I went to Valley Christian from kindergarten on until my sophomore year when I switched to public school. The change was pretty drastic, but it's actually helped me grow stronger because of the constant pressure to give in to the world. I am also currently dating the most awesome Christian guy! His name's Tim, and I'm totally in love with him! But what's cool about our relationship is that it is totally based on God and nothing else. And there's the fact that we are best friends, and nothing can separate the friendship that we have. :)
Stuff I Enjoy:

I really enjoy gymnastics, which works well with my height (I'm 4'11"). I competed in club gymnastics for 3 years and then decided to do it for my high school last year. It was cool because there's so much pressure to do well in club gymnastics and the pressure was off in high school. I got to just have fun. I absolutely LOVE to sing! Actually, I just plain love music in general, but singing is what I enjoy doing the most. I sing on my youth group's worship team which is totally awesome. It's so amazing to lead my peers in worship!! Other than that, I love to do just "normal" teen stuff...hang out with friends, go to movies, bowling, SHOPPING, etc. :)
My Life as a Christian:

I wish I could say that I've been a totally devoted Christian my whole life...but that would be a definite lie. I got saved when I was three years old. I was raised in a Christian home, went to church almost every Sunday, and attended Christian school my whole life. Sounds great doesn't it?? Well it could've been, but I started taking my salvation for granted. It become a ritual or religion rather that a relationship with a God who gave everything for me...His creation. It got really bad in junior high. I totally fell away from God...almost to the point where I didn't believe He exsisted anymore. I was so unhappy to the point where I didn't want to live anymore. But God showed His love in an awesome way. He gave me the courage to try out for cheerleading my ninth grade year. I made the squad where I met a totally awesome friend of mine. She took me to her youth group where I met Tim (my boyfriend and best friend). God totally used him in my life more than I could ever have dreamed. I could see God in his life in a major way. He's been there with me through thick and thin (and believe me...I'm VERY stubborn!!) I thank God every day for what he has given me. :)
