Mohanlal plays Vinayachandran a teacher in a prestigious "plus two" school, who believes in imparting education in an unconventional way, inviting the wrath of fellow teachers and the management alike.

Sindhu his wife is employed in a private firm and they lead a beautiful life juggling work and home yet  full of romance with their always quarelling neighbour couple providing the laughs.

Enter Sindhu's sister Bala, who is a student in Bangalore, who comes down for a brief holiday and the plot begins to thicken. The story then goes through several absorbing moments to reach an interesting finale.  

Erstwhile child star of 'Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare', Geetu Mohandas makes a comeback as Samyukta's sister. Innocent and Lalitha are the Nambiar-Soshamma love-hate neighbours. Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar, Sarita, Rizabava and some new comers complements the cast.
