State Road No. 22 originally began at Jct. State Road No. 3 Inland Empire Highway at Meyers Falls (now Kettle Falls) and headed southerly, crossing the Spokane River at Detillion, and ended at Jct. State Road No. 2 Sunset Highway in Davenport. In 1931, State Road No. 22 was extended northerly from Meyers Falls via Northport to the Canadian Border. This highway was redesignated Primary State Highway 22 in 1937. State Road No. 22 had no branches.
