State Route 276

The SR 276 corridor was added to the state highway system by the 1973 session of the state legislature. So far, a highway has not been built in this corridor. As proposed, SR 276 would be a partially controlled access expressway to eventually be upgraded to a freeway bypassing the Pullman area on the north side. SR 276 would begin at Jct US 195 NW of town and end at Jct 270 on the east side. When combined with the present route of US 195 and a proposed SR 270 bypass SE of Pullman, SR 276 would complete a ring road around Pullman.

In 2016, the state legislature removed SR 276 from the state highway system. The right-of-way is being sold to Whitman County and the City of Pullman. The city and county intend to build a bypass road on this right-of-way. The state plans to use money from the sale for safety improvements, such as passing lanes, on US 195 between Spokane and Pullman.
